UK based Arcus Fire has launched a new crowd funding campaign to enable it to test, modify and demonstrate its new agricultural attachment capable of 'snuffing out' grass/field and forest fires without using a drop of water.
The last few years have seen a marked rise in the intensity and rise of wildfires across the globe from Australia to the Amazon and even the Arctic Circle.
By default in just about every incident across the world, there are always agricultural tractors close by and often farmers can do nothing but watch helplessly as a small vegetation fire grows rapidly and spreads into a wildfire.
The blower attachment can be picked up by any tractor and operational in less than a minute. Its high volume output is greater than 25,000 cubic feet of air per minute at a nozzle outlet speed of over 200 mph, which can blow the fire out pretty much in the same way as you would blow a candle out. The blower is very effective for grass and crop fires as well as forest surface fires.
Farmers hold the key to containing and reducing the rate of spread in fires before they get out of control and this low cost tractor attachment will play a key role in combatting the destructive nature of the fires we see on TV screens and social media.
Since June 2019 Australian wildfires have created 34 fatalities they have scorched approximately 46 million acres of land and destroyed over 6500 buildings. The direct cost is expected to exceed $3 billion dollars to the government.
