Air combat training support is to be provided at multiple locations by Cubic Corporation under a new $11 million contract.
The identity of the country was not disclosed but Cubic said it is a long-time customer for whom it developed the instrumentation training system currently used by the customer.
That system provides air combat maneuvering systems training pods, debriefing systems, ground communication systems, and test equipment. It is a rangeless system. Its training pods are GPS-based and send and receive data without the need of communications towers.
As many as 60 aircraft crew can be trained simultaneously.
"Cubic is honored that our customer has continued to show faith in our ability to provide world-class systems and training over the years," said Dave Schmitz, president of Cubic Defense Systems. "This contract is a demonstration of our commitment to the air combat readiness of the United States' allies."
The new 21-month award covers the operation, maintenance, logistics support, and management of air combat maneuvering systems as well as training.
