MegaPath has announced that its Site-to-Site MPLS VPN service achieved a major milestone, connecting its 20,000th site. The MegaPath Site-to-Site MPLS VPN service provides end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) on T1/T3 and DSL access and is the only MPLS VPN service that is also available with cable, satellite and wireless access.

And, it features integrated Security Gateways that allow customers to access the Internet over the same circuit as their MPLS VPN without having to purchase, install and manage a separate Internet connection and firewall.

"As the first to offer MPLS VPNs over broadband, MegaPath's MPLS VPN market share dwarfs even the largest broadband providers," said Zeus Kerravala, SVP of Enterprise Research at Yankee Group.

"The company continues to enhance its service with innovative enhancements that others have failed to match, and is making significant investments to ensure that its business customers receive the highest possible quality for their most critical applications.

"As distributed organizations search for ways to improve productivity by deploying new applications like VoIP, MegaPath's fully managed Site-to-Site MPLS VPN service delivers a high bandwidth, low cost alternative to legacy technologies, such as Frame Relay."

MegaPath began offering its Site-to-Site MPLS VPN service over broadband in April 2004 and added end-to-end QoS in April 2005.

This service leverages the company's optical nationwide network and MPLS routing infrastructure to provide customers with up to five classes of service to ensure that business-critical data, including financial transactions, ERP/CRM applications and Voice over IP (VoIP), are prioritized for the highest level of quality available.

"As a long time MegaPath customer, we look to the company's Site-to-Site MPLS VPN service to deliver cost effective connectivity without sacrificing reliability or performance," said Dianne Hurley, Vice President of Information Technology at The BRIAD Group, the largest T.G.I. Friday's restaurant operator.

"MegaPath's leading-edge service enables us to deploy the latest bandwidth intensive applications, which increase employee productivity and customer satisfaction. We have not seen any other secure connectivity solution that offers the value we receive from the MegaPath Site-to-Site MPLS VPN service."

MegaPath's Site-to-Site MPLS VPN is a completely private network, delivering the premium performance and privacy that are essential for any mission-critical enterprise network, with greater flexibility and savings than any service in its class.

It creates a direct, secure path from site to site, reducing the time and distance of data travel. To provide access to the public Internet, MegaPath utilizes Security Gateways located throughout its network that eliminate the need for additional circuits and customer provided firewalls.

MegaPath's Security Gateways deliver a completed suite of Managed Security services, including Managed Firewall, Intrusion Prevention, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam and Web Filtering, with 24x7 proactive monitoring and management plus Internet access for the customer's entire network.

"Unlike other providers that only deliver MPLS VPN services over T1s or in some cases DSL, MegaPath provides its customers with complete flexibility to select the right connectivity and bandwidth for each site over the most expansive nationwide broadband network," stated James Cragg, President and COO at MegaPath."

MegaPath has lead the industry in delivering the highest quality MPLS VPN and secure broadband solutions for the last four years, and with this latest milestone, we are continuing to outpace our competition. As the rest of the market plays catch-up, MegaPath continues to offer innovative features, like integrated Managed Security services, and superior customer support that make our Site-to-Site MPLS VPN the best service of its kind."
