APSCC 2008 Attracts Global Interest
Seoul, Korea (SPX) Oct 01, 2008 The APSCC 2008 Satellite Conference and Exhibition ended on September 25th at Jeju Island marking another success. Under the theme of "Satellites on the Move," APSCC 2008 highlighted key issues impacting the development of the satellite industry in the Asia-Pacific region, including new satellite application technologies, services strategies and regulatory issues currently faced by the satellite community, through CEO Roundtables, panel discussions and sessions. 70 high-level speakers participated in the conference program and covered a variety of issues concerning the satellite and space-related industries such as the Asian Satellite Business Market Strategies, Space Applications and Services, Open Skies Policy, Satellite Ground Systems and Equipments, Satellite Financing, Mobile Satellite Services, Broadband Services and Applications , Space Risk and Insurance, and DTH Services. For the first time, APSCC this year also successfully organized the Military Satellite Services Workshop as a pre-conference program on September 22 covering the issues, applications, and equipments regarding military satellite services. With over 130 participants attending the workshop, prominent speakers drawn from the MilSatCom sector presented approaches for more efficient and applicable solutions among satellite applications for military satellite services through sessions on Military Satellite Applications, Military Satellite Payload Systems, Military Satellite Equipments, and Military Satellite Services Case Studies. Over the course of the three-day event, the APSCC 2008 Exhibition was also held, where leading players of the industry including GMV (Spain), IAC 2009 Daejeon Organizing Committee (Korea), Integral Systems, Inc. (USA), Intellian Technologies (Korea), KNS Inc. (Korea), KT Corporation (Korea), NanoTronix (Korea), NEC Corporation (Japan), SES NEW SKIES (The Netherlands), THAICOM Public Company Limited (Thailand) introduced their latest technologies, innovations, products and services and provided a hands-on update for technology users as well as a unique opportunity to evaluate the latest technology developments of the satellite and space related industries. Echostar Satellite Services Delivers Transponder Solution Englewood CO (SPX) Oct 01, 2008 EchoStar and its EchoStar Satellite Services have announced that it has entered into an agreement with SkyWay USA to provide transponder service to support SkyWay USA's satellite broadband Internet service. Through the agreement, EchoStar will provide SkyWay USA with domestic Ku-band satellite bandwidth. |
