This year, AAE Systems has reached a major milestone as it celebrates 25 years of innovation in delivering comprehensive satellite-based communications solutions to its international, multi-industry customer base. To commemorate its silver anniversary, it will release its lightweight mobile communications trailer (LMCT) system.

The trailer showcases AAE's cutting-edge Eclipse satellite networking product line, in addition to the company's expertise as a systems integrator. Debut of the trailer will take place at the AFCEA Technology Showcase, part of the DISA Partnership Conference in Anaheim, California from April 20-22, 2009.

The LMCT solution is a trailerized suite for rapid-deployable communications and backup connectivity. Each trailer contains a comprehensive collection of voice, video, and data systems. Connectivity is quickly established through the integration of an auto-acquisition antenna and an Eclipse satellite router. The bandwidth on demand Eclipse MF-TDAMA DAMA modem creates a network gateway supporting various forms of communication inter-connectivity built around IP broadband.

An extensive variety of primary communications systems and subsystems are included on each trailer:

+ Ruggedized Trailer Platform

+ Power and Environmental Control Package

+ Satellite Communications Package

+ Video Communications Subsystem

+ Wireless Communications Subsystem

+ Auxiliary Radio Interoperability Subsystem

+ Voice and Data Communications Subsystem

Applications of the trailer are virtually limitless as AAE can customize each trailer to suit any mission-specific operability requirements, from defense, disaster response and humanitarian aid, or wherever mobile communications deployment is needed.

Founded in 1984, AAE has a rich history in developing satellite and other wireless technologies. At its start, the company provided satellite-based communications systems, contract maintenance and operation services, and Land Mobile Radio systems to customers in the Middle East and Africa.

By the late 1990's, AAE focused its efforts in deploying DAMA based satellite solutions supporting voice, data, and video communications for a number of industries. This effort was supplemented with the release of the first generation of Eclipse digital satellite routers. AAE made further additions to its global portfolio, delivering solutions of customers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia while maintaining active deployments in the Middle East and Africa. Other related communications projects were undertaken in wireless architectures using GSM cellular radios; land mobile radios; HF command and control systems; and wireless local area networks (WLANs).

Today, the company addresses two core business functions; a manufacturer of satellite networking hardware and software and a systems integration service provider. With its unique Eclipse product line, its global expertise in turnkey satellite deployments, and its commitment to technological innovation, AAE is able to provide elegant, end-to-end communications solutions customized to fit any networking requirement. The trailer is the latest example demonstrating AAE's capabilities and as such, is appropriate for commemorating 25 years of excellence in providing satellite-based turnkey communications solutions.
