Russia And US To Create First Joint Satellite Navigation Venture

The Russian Space Systems corporation and the U.S. Trimble Navigation Group have signed an agreement to create a joint satellite navigation venture in Russia, the Russian company has said. Each of the companies will hold a 50% stake in the Rusnavgeoset company, which will produce Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) geodetic network infrastructure systems, a statement posted on Russian Space Systems' website said. Police in southwestern China said Monday they had freed 24 people forced to work at a brick kiln - the second such rescue in a week in a nation rocked by a huge slave labour scandal in 2007. The workers in Yunnan province had been lured into working for the kiln in Shilin county, where they were kept captive and beaten up if they refused to do manual labour, state media reported.
