Singapore (SPX) Jun 20, 2008 SES New Skies, has announced that the Partnership Venture of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Numix Engineering, has contracted 5 Mhz of transmission capacity on the NSS-6 satellite at 95 degrees East to launch two-way Ku-band broadband services targeting Malaysia and other countries in South East Asia. TM is Malaysia's leading next generation communications provider and broadband champion, and offers a comprehensive range of communication services and solutions in broadband, data and fixed-line. Numix Engineering was established to provide local expertise involved in the supply and system integration of high technology products, and the provision of their associated specialised engineering and support services to complement the high growth areas of broadcasting (radio and TV), telecommunications (satellite and terrestrial - fiber optics, or microwave), multimedia, defense and other related high-tech industries in Malaysia. Mr. Abdul Razak Bin Mohd Noor, Managing Director of Numix, said: " Numix Engineering as system integrator for TM's two-way Ku-band satellite broadband service will be responsible for the capital investment, transponder leasing, installation and operation of hub and remote terminals. In return, TM will provide sales and marketing support to the Numix managed services on NSS-6. We look forward to a mutually beneficial collaboration between TM, SES New Skies and Numix."
