Columbia MD (SPX) Jun 09, 2010 Integral Systems has been awarded a follow-on contract from a leading SATCOM service provider to support the addition of a new geostationary communications satellite into their existing EPOCH Integrated Product Suite (IPS) fleet control system. EPOCH IPS provides satellite operators around the world with a single, consolidated management solution for their satellite control needs. The new satellite, a LS1300 satellite built by Space Systems/Loral, a subsidiary of Loral Space and Communications, represents the 35th LS1300 satellite supported by Integral Systems' EPOCH IPS. "EPOCH continues to lead the industry in its ability to provide satellite operators with a single solution for fleet management that not only supports the widest array of satellite platforms in the industry, but has also become the most widely used system for many popular satellite designs as is the case here for the LS1300," said Mark Schmitt, Vice President of American Operations at Integral Systems. "The inherent flexibility and reliability of our offering, its low cost to procure, operate, and maintain, and the quality of our services and products continue to make Integral Systems and our EPOCH product line the preferred choice of satellite owners and operators worldwide." Integral Systems' EPOCH IPS presents a more efficient, economical alternative to costly command and monitoring practices, as an all-in-one orbital command and control system that can be operated right from a user's desktop. Government clients of EPOCH include NASA, the U.S. Air Force, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), while commercial clients include Intelsat, SES, Telesat, EchoStar, SKY Perfect JSAT, Optus, and many others.
