Schiebel's unmanned helicopter has completed more demonstrations for a potential customer – this time, the Brazilian Navy.

The demonstrations by the Camcopter S-100 were performed earlier this month from the Brazilian Navy's Amazonas-class ship APA, which was sailing near the city of San Pedro, and involved a series of scenarios over a four-day period.

The test scenarios were designed to evaluate the capabilities of the aircraft's payloads: L3 Wescam MX-10, Selex ES SAGE ESM, Selex PicoSAR Radar and Automatic Identification System.

Schiebel said the testing was conducted during the day and night, with target detection out to a distance of 90 nautical miles.

The Austrian-headquartered company, however, provided no other details of the testing.

The S-100 has a top speed of 138 miles per hour, a range of 112 miles and an altitude ceiling of 18,000 feet. Primary users include Germany, the United Arab Emirates and China.

The aircraft was demonstrated earlier this year for the Netherlands and Italy.
